Configuration of tracking device

 
Performance capacity
 
All data is transmitted via GPRS network. When an object leaves a GPRS network coverage area, the data is accumulated and will be transmitted to the server automatically when the object is in a network coverage area again.
 
Please note! Check the performance capacity of your tracking device, according to the indication. The list of possible malfunctions is presented in the Troubleshooting Chart.
 
How to activate GPRS connection:
 
Take the following steps to activate the GPRS connection for a tracking device:
 
 
Important: PIN-code of the SIM-card must be deactivated.
After you change your mobile network provider or in case the mobile network provider configures GPRS parameters differently, you need to reconfigure your tracking device.
 
GPS coverage area
 
The global positioning system (GPS) provides full coverage of the Earth. It means that, in a normal operation mode, the device must get its location data all the time. But the GPS network connection may be unstable in tunnels, buildings and at similar places.
 
GSM coverage area
 
Depending on the chosen mobile network operator, best coverage area can be different. As a rule, a mobile network operator provides information about the coverage area. Most of cities and settlements are covered by a mobile network.
 
Registration
 
Tracking device must be registered in the Geostron system.
